Time Synchronization Sensitivity in SV-based PMU Consistency Assessment

چکیده

Modern power systems are rapidly transitioning towards a fully digital substation paradigm. Based on the IEC 61850, common communication protocol between different intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) promises significant enhancement in terms of efficiency and interoperability. In this context, synchronization represents crucial aspect as it allows us to rigorously compare measurements taken at same time locations. paper, we consider measurement chain for synchrophasor estimation based inputs: an instrument transformer, stand-alone merging unit (SAMU) phasor (PMU). Both SAMU PMU equipped with independent sources. case loses its synchronization, final result would be considered invalid until complete restoration status. view longer continuity operation, paper proposes alternative approach evaluate Time Quality real-time. This continuing monitoring control operations, such state fault detection, even presence temporary loss synchronization. A characterization, both simulated experimental conditions, proves potential reliability proposed approach. test case, come-back within sufficient quality is correctly detected less than 200 s, while waiting full reference cost several minutes.

Towards Consistency-Based Reliability Assessment

1. MOTIVATION Merging information provided by several sources is an important issue and merging techniques have been extensively studied. When the reliability of the sources is not known, one can apply merging techniques such as majority or arbitration merging or distancebased merging for solving conflicts between information. At the opposite, if the reliability of the sources is known, either ...

Error Bounds and Consistency of Maximum Likelihood Time Synchronization

In this paper we consider a simplified version of a maximum likelihood time synchronization estimator introduced in [2]. This simplified variant assumes approximately accurate clock rates. We give error bounds for the estimator under the assumption of a maximum timestamping delay, and we show that these error bounds are optimal. Furthermore, we prove consistency of the clock offset estimator fo...

Model-based Real-time Synchronization

In this paper we describe an approach for model-based realtime synchronization. We present an extension of the EMFStore platform which allows multiple collaborators to connect to each other directly via peer-to-peer and to synchronize changes on model instances with each other in real-time. With this approach we allow users to collaboratively work literally on the same model instance. We argue ...

SV-CIELAB: Video Quality Assessment using Spatio-Velocity Contrast Sensitivity Function

Due to the development and popularization of high-definition televisions, digital video cameras, Blu-ray discs, digital broadcasting, IP television and so on, it plays an important role to identify and quantify video quality degradations. In this paper, we propose SV-CIELAB which is an objective video quality assessment (VQA) method using a spatio-velocity contrast sensitivity function (SV-CSF)...
